I've been hunting this spot since late January . Between my partner and myself we have pulled around 1,550 coins , mostly clad . Occasionally it gives up something nice . Yesterday , we agreed that this would be the last hunt of the season . It's about to get HOT here in the Phoenix area , like 110° hot and stay that way until October . Right before we started I said I was going to find a Merc today . Last hole of the day......

Just wondering what kind of spot is it?

Old park, old school yard, fairgrounds...? Sounds like you have had success there, so I was wondering what kind of area is it...

Wow that cleaned up nicely. Welcome to the exclusive and elite mercury dime club.

It is a cluster of city owned buildings that were built on top of a huge park that was established in the early 1900s

Thank you SS ! I was a little surprised how well it cleaned up . The dirt here is not kind to the coins for the most part .

Congrats on the beautiful 1943-S merc! Great job! :cool3:

Thank you Jak !

Congrats on finding your first Merc'. You'll remember this find forever, I found my first Merc' back in 1984 and I can still recall the details of digging it.

Welcome to the club, it's always great to end a hunt that way and that Merc's got some real nice detail to it!

I remember my first Merc vividly. I was beyond excited. I have found in excess of 60 since then and every one has been exhilarating to me. Congratulations on your first of what I am sure will be many!

Congrats on the first of many I hope Merc dime. In beauty only second to a Walking Liberty Half. Sounds way too hot out there for my pasty white Irish behint. Humidity here is a killer even when temps hit high 70s or 80s. Sorry to here you'll have to wait for fall, that is my favorite time of the year to hunt. Good luck, Mark
