i was at an area next to a river that used to have fishing shacks on the banks dating back many decades.

So i am convinced there must be some old stuff there. Until today i only found a few newer coins.

Today, feeling greedy, i decided to only dig signals 80 and above on my Simplex+. It goes up to 99 and those higher numbers could mean silver.

But it was canslaw day. Every thing pictured rang up very high.

I've dug a fair number of beaver tail pull tabs but this is the first can i've dug that used a beaver tail. And it was very deep, nearly a foot.

The most interesting thing is something i hope someone can help identify.

It is designed to be turned by a wrench. The block letters FENTON are easy enough to read but the cursive writing isn't clear to me.

Seems to say Concours Wyne.

Any ideas appreciated!

ps just did a search for Fenton and found a photo of an item up for auction.
seems to be a small cover for a custom car wheel. So that might be what
i have too.

pps yep, that is what it is. turns out it says Concours Wyre. found one for sale on ebay:

Search of "Fenton wheel hub" brings up several hub cap like items.
