Found this the other day, brass and heavy for its size. The bottom of the (round) stem was broken, so no clue as to how long it was. That's all the info I can give.

Looks like some sort of linkage catch, but not sure why it's brass?

Possibly, seems heavy for that, and because of it's heft, I just weighed it (probably should have before), just over an ounce at 30g.

Maybe more along the lines of a door locking mechanism?
