Found a brass buckle in a 1950's dump site. Is it military?

Posted this on TNet, but haven't gotten a solid answer yet. While digging in an early 1950's dump, I spotted a brass buckle. It measures 1 5/8" square and appears to be solid brass. Any help as to the age and whether or not it's military issue would be appreciated.

Enlisted mans open face buckle. Several variations existed depending on the period. Looks like a stamped buckle to me as opposed to cast brass. Common in the army for many decades I think.
