Pasco Florida area

Welcome from central Mississippi!
You live in a great area for detecting with beaches, parks and a long history.
Do not be discouraged if you cannot find a hunting partner.
Just start detecting in areas where the turf is not important until you have skill at digging holes without leaving a trace. Then advance to the more manicured areas. Buy a pinpointer. A pinpointer will prevent frustration and speed up locating the target. We like the Orange Garrrett pinpointers.
A scoop will help you a lot on the beaches.
There is no substitute for just beeping and digging.
You will get the hang of it in no time.

Welcome from St. Petersburg……..Not sure if being around larger groups of people is your thing, but you might give the following a thought.

We have a couple of metal detecting clubs in the area

Pinellas: Suncoast Research & Recovery Club: Went to one of their meetings awhile back. Seem to be a good group that has their act together. I joined for a year but never went back…..I am not a big people person.

Florida Hunt: There is an event coming up in the state next month Called the Florida Hunt. I think this will be the 8th year of the hunt. I saw some videos on YouTube of last years hunt. Looks like if could be fun. I was hoping to make it this year but it’s not looking promising.

Due to some injuries I have not done much detecting for the last year or so. Also the one good permission that I had local sold the property and they are building houses on it now. If I come up with a good place to hunt and my body is up to the task I will reach out to you.
