On our Sunday walk around the English countryside we pass this engine house on a regular basis.

I took this photograph on Sunday.

Built in 1826, this quite fascinating building originally had a Watt beam engine, which is now in the County Museum, Taunton, and was used to pump water from the River Tone to the Bridgwater and Taunton Canal.

In later years, water was pumped from the canal onto the railway which runs adjacent to the building.

Thanks for looking.......Doug.

I would love to tour your country someday! Love the picture-I have a friend in Corby, not sure how far from there.
