Who likes photography

Got a couple more pics yesterday, but alas, I had to take them through a window that fuzzy'd them. :dash2: Seems like more often than not I have to take what I can get.

Are you shooting with a DSLR? You could always try to manual focus....

Beautiful shots! The Hairy leg Hawk, and Mr. Squirrel.
I especially love the cranky Eagle... We have an Eagle's nest near us, but I don't have a telephoto for my Canon Rebel.

Besides, I'm a painter, and mostly use my shots for paintings..

Drone photography??

This is a site I hunt (MD) now and then. The abandoned trailer is new compared to the rest of the place. You can see the old barn remains. The barn actually has a tiny house fiundation attached to it too, with a fridge probably from the 50's. The place is horribly overgrown and loaded with ticks and nails and all kinds of !!!!, maybe even copperheads(??). . I never found anything of value but there are some relics to be found spanning quite a few decades. There are the remains of what appears to be an entrance to a an old root cellar which is mostly destroyed. Behind that I found some old buried junk and glass dating probably to the 40's. The drone was too high up to capture that area which is mostly obscured by trees.

I'm very intrigued by this spot but overgrowth and ticks detract from the experience. The only thing of real interest so far was a brass fixture that almost looks like a boat cleat, but I'm sure isnt and has something more to do with agriculture. It also has a mysterious "14" on it. I posted photos elswhere of that.

I'll bet there are things to be found there but there's alot of junk and alot of work.

Nice photos from the drone. It looks like an interesting place, despite the
ticks, snakes etc. Do you wear snake boots ?

I finally took the plunge and bought a Nikon Z7ii mirrorless camera.
Along with a new 70-200 lens.

It's quite a steep learning curve getting my head around the controls, but
I'm slowly getting there.

Honeestly no, I dont wear snake boots but I do wear thick good shoes or boots normally. Although people do see or are even occasionally biy copperheads in SW Pennsylvania, I've never seen one nor known anyone who has. I generally pace slowly and scan ahead, not necessarily because of snakes. Back in New York my favorite place to walk was in the s
Shawangunk Mountains. I lived in them for 10 years and travelled frequently to them between the ages.of say 4 and 36, when I moved to P.A.. On the trailheads were always posted signs warning about rattlesnakes. Interestingly I never saw or heard a rattlesnake in the Shawngunks until ONE DAY when I was about 30....and it was two in one day! None before that, and never any after. One of them gave me plenty of warning, but he was BIG! The head was as big as man's fist. Evil! Since then I have always been mindful of their possible presence. When I turn over pieces of junk I do so carefully. And when in the woods I also usually also carry a 9mm or a 357. In most cases I wouldnt shoot a snake, but its comforting to have the option.

Anyhoo, there is like 100 acres there and its been for sale for a long time. In the mean time people hang out and do whatever there. A closed public road runs through it. A cop told me its ok to hang there and do what you want within reason.

Had these two bedded down in my north paddock the other morning. I believe that they've been abandoned and hang out here because I provide a relatively safe haven for them.

Awww, that's lovely.

Sad to think that people will go out shooting these animals for fun !!

Here's a few more of what I have seen.

I love the photos. :clapping: Where was this, and what type of fish is that ?
Did you keep it or return it to the water ?

I early fish for carp on the Connecticut river here in Agawam Massachusetts Alan,so far my biggest was 32#,I catch and release,if there any Nepali's around they take them home. After hooking into the first 10 pounder I just do not want to fish for ANYTHING else, they are extreme fighters!

Yes I can imagine that fish putting up quite a fight. It's a monster !
Nice to know that you put them back.
I don't fish, but someone I met while they were fishing, was saying that
some of our lakes are getting cleared out by Eastern Europeans fishing
illegally, for fish to take home and cook.

More of what I see.

Lovely photos. You certainly get a greater variety of creatures than we do here in the UK. As well as colourful birds.

There is certainly a lot of wildlife around here,I am constantly on the 'spy' for it Alan. Those whitetails were on the other side of the river, roughly 200 yards+.

Same here as far as Europeans taking everything they catch,I have had them running over to me as I reel them in to take home and eat.
