The end of a family era.

At midnight tonight (UK time) our eldest son leaves the Royal Navy FAA (Fleet Air Arm) after 36 years 3 months and 4 days.

It started with a careers convention at the local school when he was 16 years old and ended 36+ years later.

There have been some worrying times within that time with him serving in various conflicts, he is 4th generation military so within the family we knew there was always would be 'risks.'

So, welcome to the family Vets Club son.

Many thanks for your kind comments but the story continues........

Son number 2 decide he wanted to follow his big brother into the Royal Navy but this time under the water not above the water.

So when he left school he joined the Royal Navy but this time in the role of a submariner, 24 years later he is now also a veteran.
