An interesting iron nail/spike

Anyone know what this is or how old it might be? I found it in a canyon in the Los Angeles area.

I can't seem to find anything like it using Google image search.

Tent peg maybe?

Thx. I agree - tent peg seems a good guess, and I know travelers camped in this area in the mid-to-late 19th century. Maybe homemade, as I don’t find examples with an image search. A bag of these would be heavy though!

Or maybe a nail to sink down into the top of a fence post to hold barbed wire? Most of the other older iron I find here looks to be fence/farm stuff.

Also resembles pegs that miners would place in the walls of a mine to keep electrical wiring off the mine floor?
