Hey guys,

I found an arrowhead yesterday in my yard in SW VA. Its the clearer one. Does anyone know how old it is, and what kind it is?

I also have another one, found in a box of other arrowheads from my neighbor’s garage sale. I don’t know where it’s from, but the other arrowheads in the box have dirt on them, and the original owners collected authentic Native American objects.

I want to know how old both are, and what type.

Thanks!

Looks like possibly smoky quartz? I'm no mineralogy major though. I would love to find native American artifacts, hopefully someday. Bug congrats, that's a really nice one!

Due to its translucency,I would think it is either chalcedony or a light colored flint. It may have started its life as a projectile point but with one ear broken off, it likely was used as a scraper/knife later in its life. Nice find!
