Hit a spot that I’ve been to a few times now and fields had just been hayed so the conditions were perfect for swinging. The house was built in the 1850’s according to the owner but there was definitely something there before that. The ground here is loaded with trash so solid high tones are the only signals I really have been going after. Long story short I ended up with 3 colonial coppers, all of which are in rough shape but look like King George 2. Then I got a surprise 30 on the equinox and figured it was probably going to be a can or something and there he was. A 1945 Washington quarter in fairly good shape. That is only my third silver quarter ever but that makes 82 coppers in my four years of detecting. I’ll have to go back and dig some of the mid tones because there may be some cool relics there. Happy hunting everyone

Nice! Silver Washington's are getting scarce ... it definitely helps to use the pin point button to see how small a target is.. I always hope for a quick drop off of the tone

Congrats on the coppers and 45 GW . The silver does seem a little modern and out of place but you never know what will show up next. A couple weeks ago I was hunting inside an old stone foundation and got a perfect 35-36. I thought a silver half or a LC. It was a half allright, a clad half. I wondered if some mdr put there just so the guy that found it would be left scratching his head. Anyway cool saves and good luck, Mark

Does anyone else notice the irony of this post ? A silver Washington quarter is the usual show & tell of a west coast hunter (Jamflicker, etc.....). But for an east coast hunter ... NNNEEEEOOOooohhhhh, it has to be accompanied by a few LCs or colonial coppers. Can you spell "photoshop" ? Tsk tsk.
