I met up with my buddy Worm early this morning to hunt my favorite park. Worm had the first good find with what both he and I thought was a small silver charm in the shape of a lion. When he got home and cleaned it off it was marked 14k! I didn’t get a pic of it but maybe he’ll chime in and post one. At about the same time I hit a wheat cent. That gave hope because both of us have pounded this old football field. After two more wheats I got a nice high tone and thought for sure I had a silver dime but it turned out to be a small horseshoe charm marked 925. At about the same time Worm hit a 925 religious ring in the corner of the football field. By then it was getting really hot and decided to call it quits. I had just moved to a field adjacent to the old football field where I got silvers in past hunts. As Worm was working his way back to his truck I got a nice high tone and out comes a 39 merc. Worm came over to look at it and started back working his way to his truck when not 6 feet away from that merc I got a similar high tone and out pops another worn merc with an incomplete date. After that I did a little gridding in that area but no luck. So I decided to call it quits and began working my way back across the football field to my car and right before I get to my car another high tone and another silver dime this time a 51 rosie.

When I got home I got curious as to how many silver coins I’ve dug at this park so I looked back through my log book and counted 31! I’ve also dug 5 or 6 (I’ll have to check) gold rings in this park.

Today’s three gets me to 22 for the year.

Good to see you guys back at it Toad. Congrats on the multiple silver strike. I would be working that place to death. Good luck, Mark

That’s a nice silver coin count for a hunt!

I found a very similar “sterling” marked pendant back in ‘17. Horse is just looking the other way lol.
