Barrel tap ID needed

I found what I believe to be a barrel tap. Dug in a field in an early 1800’s area in Baltimore County Maryland. It was found in two separate pieces that fit together as shown. I have googled and tried a search on here but haven’t found anything specific to the one I found. Does anyone know details such as age and specific use other than for a barrel? Thank you

Thank you. That is very similar indeed. Mine was found in the US not Europe but it stands to reason that it came from Europe. I did learn from your link though. I thought that the part that sticks out from the spout was to hang a vessel. It turns out that it is where you struck it with a hammer to insert the tap into a barrel.
