Hello guys!

For couple years on the forume i met a lot of good friends here, and finally met in person with SEmer1969. Sure we get out to Metal detect, the place we were hunted was in the local ancient park that is under laws protection, and guess that's why we've find some really interesting stuff:D We were hunted not much, guess about an hour cuz it's really hot here.
I forgot to take a pic of total finds, hope Stephan will add few pics here in the thread too. There were couple Rome coins , copper coins 1700's, early soviet nickel, a bunch of WW2 bullets, pliers:D
I have a great time, hope next time we'll have more time for Metal detecting:friends::digginahole::workforgold:

That's great, and looks like you guys had a nice time too! When are you going to detect that river swimming area?

Wonderful Time - Thanks!

It was really great to go out collecting with Andrey and his wife. Not only were they wonderful hosts, but I have never been to an area so diverse in it's timeline. Talk about exciting! 2 Kopek coins from the late 1700's/early 1800's alongside Roman coins alongside World War II buttons and bullets. There were lots of Mosquitos in the woods but I tell you, with the adrenaline going I did not have any issue with them swarming me :p

Swimming area was amazing as well. Not sure how long it has been used for swimming, but I suppose even Romans swam in the rivers there. I can't even imagine what is laying on the bottom of the shallow river beds below the rocks. Pictures show how many people are there during the summer in 2013, just think how many people used this swimming area before there were automobiles and the ability to go to other towns on a weekend.

I've been to lots of countries in my lifetime (31 at last count), and for those considering taking a trip that is not the typical vacation, Ukraine is a wonderful country with wonderful people and a fascinating history. Thanks so much Andrey, and look forward to many hunts together in the future both there and here!

Stephen

PS - Just got home tonight so will post some close-up shots of our finds and a few other finds I made going to Chernigov (border with Belarus).
