Interesting water find article - Israel

Interesting that the article notes that the finder was given a "certificate of appreciation for reporting the sword to Israel Antiquities Authority"
1) If that had happened here in the USA, some archie types might have had kittens, that someone touched and retrieved such an item. Because, gee, now it's removed from context, blah blah blah. So I guess that's a good thing that you're not forbidden to look for, and retrieve, old stuff there.
2) However, you don't get to keep the item (unless, I guess, you choose to forgo the "certificate of appreciation" ?
