I carry a small magnet in my pouch where I put my trash. It helps pick up iron targets from my tot lots. I have a small one I have been carrying but want to go to a bigger one so I can just touch the magnet to the area where I get an iron signal, and it will pick it up. I'm wondering if it will hurt my pinpointer. I keep it in the same pouch as my trash.

Thanks

I'd be more worried if you had a pacemaker.

The magnet should not damage the pin pointer, just keep it away from the pin pointer (specially the tip) when you are using it.

You won't damage anything. My lanyard for my pin pointer is actually magnetic to my belt. I've had the same PP and magnet for 4 years now
