Well, Boys and Girls, it is time for KT to present His Royal CRH totals for the past year. Just remember when looking at the data, that KT did not get to start back CRHing until the first week of March, thus losing 2 full months or 1/6ths of the year. Also, instead of 5 boxes/week, KT was only allowed 2 boxes/week, due to the so-called coin shortage....never such a thing relative to halves because essentially no one uses them anyway! If you know of a coin operated machine that takes them, KT would like to know!:laughing:

Well, enough of excuses, here are the totals:

Cost (Value) of the Coins Searched - $59,500.
# of Halves Searched ---------------- 119,000
# of 90% Ag Recovered-------------- 26
# of 40% Ag Recovered-------------- 81
# of Proofs Recovered---------------- 24
# of Low Mintage( incl. 87s & NIFCs)- 99
Bank Overage (found in coin machine)- $ 1.27
Value of 90% Ag halves (melt value)- $217.52
Value of 40% Ag halves (melt value)- $277.08

Total Gross Silver Coins recovered value - $494.60

Despite the bank failing on 2 occasions to even order KT's boxes, thus lowering the number of actual CRH efforts 42 weeks, this makes KT's average weekly CRH yielding a silver profit of $11.75 per week!

KT is happy with that! :kingdances::kingdances::gettinmoney::dingding:

PS: No pics as the coins were shown every week a successful CRH was conducted this year!

Happy New Year everyone! :yay::party::party2:

Nice numbers, KT. Just curious, how are the yearly totals trending? I would guess gradually downward. I did a little half searching back in 2007, just asking for rolls, no boxes. Found a few 90%, and some 40%, but didn't get into it further. I think silver back then was around 10-12 dollars per ounce.

DougF,

That is a difficult question for KT to answer. When KT started CRHing back in early 2012 He was getting 5 boxes a week and that continued until 2020 when early in the year, the bank limited access to the Lobby and therefore CRHing came to a stand still. When it started back up in March of 2021, KT was limited to only 2 boxes for reasons previously stated. So it is very difficult without a full analysis to say that silver was declining, on the rise, or holding even keel on the recovery by KT. If this year which was less than 40 weeks and about 40% of the previous full year of number of boxes hunted is compared to 2019, then KT thinks the take is about the same percentagewise for the number of coins hunted. But since 2012, KT has seen the recovery increase then slowly decrease during the 5 box years, but never get a lot higher or lower....KT is uncertain if He has answered your question to your liking, but rest assured, KT's Royal Coffers still grow significantly every year!:laughing:

Looks like a nice haul KT!

Royal Thanks for your kind comment, kaufenanger! This years silver value result was somewhat surprising to KT, and is simply due to the higher over all average price of silver when compared to previous recent years.

KT will take whatever He can recover, until He is no longer for health reasons to continue CRHing....and no worry, that is likely several years down the line. It is more likely that other factors, such as the bank's policies, fake coin shortages, or shutting again of the bank lobby will have more effect on KT's CRHing than His Majesty's Royal Health.

If KT ever has to quit for any reason, He will present a lifetime set of totals of His Royal CRHing efforts!:yes::D

Well done considering the difficulties of supply!
Are you hoping to get back to 5 boxes a week this year?

KT hopes so, but it is likely He will never get more than two boxes a week with the false accusations of a coin shortage continuing to circulate. KT is happy not to have to have to search for new suppliers and new banks and dump machines……just working the existing system for whatever it is worth!

Nice job, KT! Glad your year CRHing was productive! :woot:

:laughing: His Majesty is too, Wolf-Dog! Tis a good thing that hobbyists do such activities for the fun of it and not for the dollars! And KT does enjoy this activity! Like most MDers say, it’s the hunt…not so much what you find, tho that is often interesting too! :D
