It's been several months since I was at this sidewalk tearout but noticed they had all the old concrete out and it was leveled out and ready to form up and pour. Thought I'd better go over it one more time as it already gave me a 1896 O Barber quarter, a 1953 Washington quarter, a 1891 V nickel, a 1919 Buffalo nickel a few unreadable Indians and Wheaties and a gold plated ring. About half way down it got a screamer looked down and this 1874 Seated quarter was laying on top of the leveled dirt.

Congrats on an awesome find - a bucket lister for sure!

I'm always on the lookout for a sidewalk tearout in the older section of my town. No luck yet, but hopefully someday soon.

Here is my seated from a few days ago. Do you have any ideas on removing those stains ?1B923EA5-51BF-4526-A513-B994B3BEB1D3.jpeg

A little baking soda and water on a Q-tip will lighten it up some, if you rub gently you can pretty well control where you take it from.

Congratulations!
Not too much construction activity here this year, plus many other activities going on now.

Congrats on the Seated Quarter! That's one I really hope to find some day. They almost never do tear outs where I live, and when they do it's usually a short section.
