I've got a cousin up your way that has a bunch of land as well. He owns one of the highest elevations in the county (think around Fairfax) and built a 400' tower on it. On top of that, he sold some land to allow an Interstate bypass......needless to say with the tower use leases and the money from the land sale, he's set for life! Has a beach house at Hatteras too! Sounds like I need to come up your way! The bugs here don't bother you unless you have sugar in your veins or from the NE...lol. The ticks do have chiggers on them...they don't stay on you very long because the mosquitos start attacking them or they get so full they just fall off! Seed ticks are the worst though!!!! Got a few rattlesnakes, copperheads, water moccasins, black widows and brown recluse to keep a watch for! Situational Awareness! Like keeping an eye out for IED's! Of course in Arkansas we still open carry, just need a revolver for the shot shells. They don't function well in a semi-auto.

Be sure and wipe that battery pack down good with some sani-wipes! You could have bought an RNB battery and been detecting long ago, still on the first charge too.....Did you do a cost analysis on all the AA's?.......But no specialist, you had to save a buck and then turn right around and buy another detector.. Love you too man!

Edit: that reminds me, I need to take my RNB pack out of the detector and charge it for a bit.....forgot about it (after several hunts), still on full!
