I got these as a gift several years ago and while they don't take up much room I'm not really interested in them. I put them up on craigslist for $25 but is that a price I could expect to sell them for? Seems like no one even uses craigslist these days. Should I just list on eBay? I know many coin shops won't touch these things. At the very least I should be able to get $9.64

Proof 80-81

The price will depend upon if the coins are Type I or Type II.
The difference is in the Mint Mark...and there is a big difference in value. Do your research, some of these could be worth $$.

Thank you for letting me know what to look for! I googled it and saw someone saying the 1979 and 1981 sets are where the Type I and Type II differences come into play. https://davescollectiblecoins.com/1979-1981-type-1-2-proof-coins-how-to-spot-them/

This is the SBA from the 1981 set. I think this is the less rare Type I set but the differences are just so subtle I'm not sure.

The first is Type1. (Yours looks like Type1.)
The second is Type2 “clear”.

Thank you! I didn't think I had anything rare. Do you have an idea on value? I'm looking to move them and be realistic about it so if they're just junk worth face that would make things easy.

I would see what your local coin shop would give you. $30–35 may be worth it.
Or throw it on eBay...but then your loosing money on eBay fees and shipping.
$8.00 each set is fair, but as you said...coin shop shy away cause they are not buying them at that price. They are selling closer to that price.

The other coins can also have a Type1 or Type2. Worth a look.

Collector interest in proof and mint sets is at an all time low. Dealers are hesitant to buy them because they're tough to sell.

Seems like eBay is just absolutely flooded with them. I wouldn't be buying them either because to me they're just clad. I got an offer of $20, should I take it?
