My hunting buddy Schweddy and I got a permission at an old 1883 home and my 1st target was a nice 1937 Walking Liberty half dollar! A little bit later I dug the sterling ring with a beautiful garnet? stone! The pleasant surprise came when I found a glob of iron that I recognized as a possible “Griswold Pup” from the shape of it. After I got home I put it in my electrolysis tank and after 2 1/2 days I took it out and was shocked on how well it cleaned up! It turned out to be a genuine Griswold pup made in 1951! There’s a lot of fake or reproductions out there but not too many real ones. They only made 3000 of them so I am stoked to have found one and that it cleaned up so well! Goes to show you never know what some of those iron targets may be until they are cleaned up!

Oh sweet! Can’t believe that dog figurine cleaned up so nicely! Wow! And I still say that’s the coolest sterling ring I’ve ever seen dug. Fantastic! Congrats man!!

Okay, as much as I love the Walker half, that ring is exquisite. So fine, Congrats on it and all the other finds. You and your buddy haven't posted in a while. Good to hear from you. Good luck. Mark
