First hunt with coiltek 10x5 coil didn't disappoint. Hit a couple of trashy parks and ended up with 10 wheats and 2 silver dimes. Also found a cool trolley token and a decent amount of clad. First impression is good and I really enjoy swinging this coil. Being 10 inches from tip to tail I am covering about the same area on each swing as with stock coil. It is obviously lighter and balances the machine well. It seems to separate as well as the 6" round coil and goes a bit deeper. It does love rusty nails but I may be able to adjust settings to help remedy that a little. Coins did give a strong repeatable signal even near iron that I could hone in on.. Check out the finds and watch the video for live digs with the coil!

Ben, great video and congrats on your finds. I agree the 10x5 does make rusty iron sound good, but so does the 6in. But on the other hand could these smaller coils be helping to train our ears to hear just what Multi-freq is reporting ? 14 out of my last 15 silver has been with the 10x5 and almost the rest have been with 6in. this year. I'm sold on the 10x 5 and look forward to more of your videos with this little giant. Good luck, Mark

Back in the day when you bought a 35mm camera it came with a 50mm "normal" lens.
They turned out to be too long for landscapes and too short for portraits. Stock coils on detectors seem to be the same to me. I am much happier with a 9.5" DD coil on my Simplex+.

Good Hunt!
Think the new coiltek is better in heavy trash than the 6"?
Thanks,
Tom
I don't know if it is better but it seems to be performing very similar to 6" but also goes deeper in my soil so that is exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks! I agree. The 10x5 seems to be just right!

Awesome! I was a moron and didn't get on the first list for the 10x5 coil. If it is anything like the 10x5 CTX coil I'm going to be very happy.
