I have a VMax pinpointer that needs the tip repaired.

Should I use JB Weld, Marine Goop or Silicone?

Or is there another type of epoxy that I should use? The tip is worn down.

I don't have the money to buy a new pinpointer at this time.

A common chair leg protector from Home Depot or Lowes, will get you by. I have never worn a single pin pointer tip down though. That is after 11 years.

I vote for the JB Weld as well. It worked great, but, just be careful to not glue the circuit board in place inside the unit with too much going to the internals. This will prevent taking the board out if you ever need it out for cleaning. I periodically take them apart to save them after the pointers get to the "wacky" stage with debris causing irregular responses. I have been successful on the units so far. I currently have 4 carrots and 2 MI6 units.

Thanks for all the help. JB Weld has iron powder in it to help make it strong bond. The iron won't affect it? So could you use it to make your coil last longer too? (providing that there isn't any exposed wiring).
