So been working this particular area since I started in 2019. Also traveled and detected other areas in that time but this is my after work and weekend training grounds for my oldest daughter now. I posted a thread about this area but only showed the current finds that were the best yet. So a little history this area was homesteaded starting around 1869. Major timber producer and later about 50 miles into the mountains a small gold rush (Lone Jack Mine) there were three homes on the perimeter of these fields and 2 more that were pulled up from the flood plain. Homes are gone last one late 1970’s. Done tons of research maps, old photos, many visits to the historical society of our county, newspaper articles etc etc. There is still visible foundations and steps in the overgrowth. So here’s the area.

So the 2nd picture is the main farm circa 1882 and there was one in the forest of 1st picture and one on field perimeter to the right of third pic.

My buddy that was with me hunting took a video but not viewer friendly too many f bombs.

So I have found some modern clad. Thousands of nails no joke. Close to a hundred cans either tin or aluminum, wire, maybe a few hundred pounds of pipe and other random iron and we have been removing all the junk.

This is just a very small sample of removed items. And random old trash

That's some nice finds and obviously a bunch of work! Congrats! I gotta say, you have given me the inspiration to continue with my yard (1900), seeing the amount of junk you are dealing with. I just spent another unproductive afternoon digging junk of all sorts, and had gotten to the point of just giving up on it due to the amount of trash, even though I think that somewhere down there there is good stuff. Now, I think that I'll grid it off into small sections, and just dig it all. Thanks for the inspiration!

Yeah yesterday was all nails and old iron as well as trash at the field/homesite. Then the kiddo and I stopped at her playground and found some clad, pencils and some kinda heart pendent. I do get frustrated at the field but there are coins there and obviously some older jewelry but lots and lots of iron

Sunday’s stuff

So tossed the bottle caps beaver tails and most nails but here’s some of yesterday’s finds

Not sure what that bullet looking lead item is kiddo dug it. Maybe muzzle loader??

Great play-by-play. Love those on-site pictures, that bring the reader to "feel" the location. You worked HARD for those coins. Love the deep green patina on that IH too.

Yeah it’s crazy how much iron and trash is there. But in it is some solid targets. Just hard especially with certain nails and wire. The nox has a tough time with those kinda targets in this location. But I dig it all anyhow. If it repeats I will go after it. The Indian was my first good coin find in wa. Found some in Idaho before on a trip but that was a great target. Thanks Tom
