Hello,
Yesterday after work I decided to head deep into the woods to what I understand was a civil war fort. I have hunted this area before but with no luck. Yesterday, I still did not find the fort, but have discovered some earthworks, about that time my luck completely changed. I found 5 3 ringers, 1 2 ringer, an eagle cuff button and these two items which I am unfamiliar with. Any help would be appreciated.

The top piece reminds my of little caps that go on red rider wagon axles. Or a lot of old toy axles had caps that you tapped on to keep the shells on.

I thought the same thing, but the gauge of the material is extremely thick for that purpose🤷!

I edited the two bottom pictures to be able to see it a little better.

I believe the bottom item is a horse tack ornament. I have found several like this in the mountains where I live where logging took place back in the early 1900's. Neat find.

i have found one of those items in the 2 pictures that were edited... i assumed it was an old button, since i found it on a plantation that was in use from the late 1700s and farm land into the mid 1970s. It was a very busy area throughout the 1800s, known for large cotton and grist mill production, trading post, church and post office... so i assumed it could have been from anywhere. I googled it religiously and no luck whatsoever. I'm glad i stumbled upon this thread, because now i finally know what it is. I can now change its label in the display case from "button..?" to "Horse Tack". Thank you!!! :D:D
