Hey guys, just throwing this out there to see what comes back.

One of my permissions gave me a bank bag full of old greek notes and coins from the 70's and 80's before the euro. Story is someone in the family went on vacation to Greece and came back with some of the currency. It was forgotten about and the deadline for exchange to euros is long past.
I found a site in the UK that would give me about $16 US for these notes and coins:
Your exchange
500 Greek Drachmas banknote (Ioannis Kapodistrias) 16 ×$1.99
100 Greek Drachmas banknote (Athena) 16 ×$0.39
1000 Greek Drachmas banknote (Apollo) 7 ×$1.74
5000 Greek Drachmas banknote (Kolokotronies 1984) 9 ×$11.21
100 Greek Drachmas coin (Alexander the Great) 18 ×$0.39
20 Greek Drachmas coin (Pericles) 9 ×$0.03
10 Greek Drachmas coin (Democritus) 19 ×$0.04
5 Greek Drachmas coin (Aristotle) 17 ×$0.01
2 Greek Drachmas coin (Manto Mavrogenous) 22 ×$0.00
2 Greek Drachmas coin (Georgios Karaiskakis) 6 ×$0.00
50 Greek Drachmas coin (Homer) 13 ×$0.14
20 Greek Drachmas coin (Dionysios Solomos) 5 ×$0.02
1 Greek Drachma coin (Laskarina Bouboulina) 19 ×$0.00
1 Greek Drachma coin (Constantine Kanaris) 18 ×$0.00
50 Greek Drachmas banknote (Poseidon) 9 ×$0.11
SUBTOTAL $16.15
YOU RECEIVE $16.15

Probably not worth the postage to get them over there! So I'm wondering if there is any collector value? Perhaps collectors might be interested?
What say you?

To have any real value. The bank notes must be crisp, no folds.

Oh boy, several of the notes are in pretty bad shape. I kind of figured they would need to be crispy.
Some were taped around the edges with scotch tape which of course has deteriorated.
Think Im going to hand the whole thing back to the owner and wish him the best of luck.
