I wonder if anyone has either gone, or is thinking of going mirrorless ?
Lots of You Tube videos, talking about the pros and cons. It would be nice
to hear from someone who is not being sponsored.
I have been casting eyes on the soon to be announced Z6s.
Some don't like the lag on the EVF, or the shorter battery life.

Fishing this morning, lots of subjects, but,,no fish.

I have in the past taken a lot of neat pics with film cameras, but never wanted to spring for a good digital model. Bought a little inexpensive Konica-Minolta Dimage Z3 that captured some amazing shots and satisfied my need to a great extent, but I still wanted more. Found a Fugi Finepix S8600 locally, and as much as I tried I never warmed up to it. Finally, I ran across a Canon EOS Rebel T2i w/Sigma 18-300 lens, batteries, charger, and case at a garage sale last weekend that I traded some AR parts for, and I'm in love!

As I said, my old Z3 did well, and I really liked what it could do for what I paid for it.

I never thought that the Fugi delivered the clarity I desired, so it was always somewhat disappointing. I also really missed having a conventional viewfinder. Having to use the LED screen on the back SUCKED!

I haven't had a chance to use the new (to me) Canon much yet, but so far I'm impressed. This shot of a Cope's Tree Frog on my picture window was taken in the dark from about 10 feet away.

With any luck I'll be contributing to this thread more now that I have equipment that's capable of worthy results.

If i didn't wear my camera as uniform of the day I'd miss this.

Been having night raiders for awhile now,I open the door and they try to come in.:lol:I'll get a shot of that one day.

KT likes micromineral photography.

So in accordance to that here are some pictures taken with The Royal Chinese USB led microscope.

KT will explain each photo as those not familiar with minerals may not recognize the various mineral species imaged.

Pic 1 is native copper crystals from the Ray Mine, Ray, AZ. You can tell why copper is called the red metal. 10 X magnification.

Pic 2 is a starburst of black Hollandite, a manganese oxide mineral, encased in quartz from Madagascar, 20 X magnification.

Pic 3 is rutile hairs suspended in clear quartz from Brazil...so called Venus hair by the ancient Greeks, 10 X magnification.

Pic 4 is a topaz crystal perched on bixbyite, Topaz Mountains, Utah, 15X.

Down through the years KT has managed to assemble a collection of several 100 digital pictures of mineral species, these four are just a random grab from that photo archive.

Hope you enjoy them!

Olympus M43 Camera Shot

Blossom Dam.
I see the forum degrades the quality of the picture post.

I've been focusing my efforts on my tree frogs, because with the colder weather moving in they won't be around much longer.

The pics are a bit deceiving, 'cause he's only about 1½" long.
