What does everyone do for a living?

I was in sales & marketing since shortly after the earth cooled (last 11 yrs in healthcare). Retired (& loving it) for almost a year.
 
Well im new here an Im from Wales (uk) and I am a bricklayer been building houses etc for twenty yrs now so im clapped out a bit lol but one thing I was part of building was the millenium stadium which is our national stadium (even got a ticket for the opening game) our national sport is rugby so I was overjoyed to work there even if i was ripped off lol
 
I'm 40 years selfemployed commercial fisherman, only got like maybe 28 more years until retirement!! :lol: How old would that make me?
 
I do CNC set-ups for production plant in N.J. Been there 6yrs,5 months,16 days ,14 hrs and 5 minutes. 20 years in a machine shop before that. detecting about 14 years;it's never been boring.
 
Engineer for 20 years. Primarily nuclear generation, distribution and metering. Wish I would have taken that job offer with Minelab when they were on campus interviewing! :lol:

Vlad - I could use any advice you might have on leveling and installing wood floors too. :yes:
 
after 29 years with large union grocery store ( produce dept.) ,took early retirement package at age 55 ,it has been 1 year now , there is still not enough time in the day for my hobbies ( metal detecting, making cat scratching poles for sale at craft sales, power walking , baby sitting grandson ,(he lives with us).
 
Retired from a Major NC City as Risk Administrator after 30 yrs. Eighteen hour days from Hurricanes Dennis and Floyd did me in. Now I pretty much do as I want. Woodwork a little, collect stamps, am a licensed Auctioneer. do a little (very little) farming mostly ride the tractor for fun, and metel detect. Just found out I'm going to be a Granddad in August so I have to start planning on spoiling it. You know, puppies, ponies, ice cream, Disney World, etc. Just plain enjoying life!!! :yes:
 
Mechanical engineering for Cornell University, mainly facilities, laboratories, animal suites, etc.

My picture of me at work would consist of lots of sitting in front of puter, papers and drawings. Not a pretty site like installing a wireless repeater.
 
I'm a electronic tech in the r/d lab for a major oil tool service company in houston tx. love hunting, cooking, fishing, cooking, golfing, cooking, metal detecting, and oh yea cooking :roll: about another 30 years till retirement. life is so wrong :(
 
Spent 22 years on U.S. Coast Guard helicopters and now I am a training specialist at the National Search and Rescue School in Yorktown, VA

Skilled trades at a major wood products company. Although I hold two electrical journeymans cards, we are a multi skilled facility, and I do just about everything involved in maint. Been here for twenty three years, and will retire in about seven more icecream seasons. :lol:
 
I am a metrologist and work for one of the auto manufacturing companies in the Detroit area.
 
i do whatever i feel like doing. been in the navy, a cop, carpet warehouse mgr., mechanic/body man, 3 milliom miles chasing gil in a truck, concrete finisher, farmer, carpenter, junkoligist, heavy equipment operator, but currently i dig gold around nome, ak in the summer and cut firewood in the winter.

in my spare time i coinshoot.
 
Ha! Sounds like my life, phantom... Except for the "carpet warehouse mgr", "3 milliom miles chasing gil in a truck" (?) :?: , "farmer" and the Alaska part.

I'm a swamp tour guide in the Honey Island Swamp, photographer, and I paint some. Now I gotta blow the 66 apart and do it all over again... Oh well, idle hands are the devils workshop, ya know...

Retired Air Force now working as a program manager for one of those big defense contractors.
