Why of course!:laughing: You did a fine job of showing KT in the new Royal Coach! Check the next post in this thread to see how KT has been further customizing this new Royal Ride.

A few additional alterations of the Royal Coach

KT noticed that the stock radio antenna had enough sun damage that the rubber was badly cracked and damaged, so picture 1 is of the brand new replacement!

Then an examination of the service records confirmed that there was no record of the cabin air filter ever having been replaced (supposed to be replaced every 40K miles). Since the new Royal Coach has nearly 100K on it, KT visited the local Coach parts store and picked up a new WIX air filter. Just installed it today and the pic is of the old dirty one!:lol::lol:

Finally, every Royal Coach KT has ever owned had a trailer receiver on it, and it has been handy for both doing the Queen's bidding to rescuing damsels in distress, so KT just this week had this 2" receiver installed with wiring. So you can see it in pic 3.

This is close to the last of the immediate updates and modifications KT intended to have done on the new Royal Coach. The Buyer for the olde Royal Coach came last week, paid for, and drove away in it. In a way, KT was sad to see it go, but He is enjoying the very comfortable transport of the new one!:lol:

Good alertness checking the cabin filter, most people might not even think to check that filter !

Also good maintenance and upgrade between the antenna rubber and adding the trailer hitch !

It's fun to spruce up and enhance a newly acquired vehicle ! :D

Royal Thanks,GKL! Several of KT’s friends who have ridden in the Royal Coach with KT have stated that they cannot believe it is a used car, so KT feels very lucky to have located one in such great condition!

Shortly after purchasing it, the Queen suggested that His Highness purchase a wash plan at a nearby Coach wash, so KT went out and did just that for a 6 months trial. Unlimited best wash with undercarriage and hot wax. If KT uses it once a week, then it comes out to be half price at $11 a wash. That way KT does not have to waste His Royal Time having to oversee the locals washing it every week!:laughing:

Neat, glad you got a good deal, effectively half price !

I have been somewhat leery about automatic car washes wondering if they might put very small scratches in the paint, I've heard about brushless car washes but I do my own car wash and wax by hand, it is a bit of work but I look at it as a form of exercise

KT certainly understands your thoughts, but KT is not interested in sweating in 110 degree heat this summer while washing the Royal Coach! It is not touchless, but it also does not have those whirling brushes, only long dangly hanging cloth strips that drag over the hood, windows, roof, etc...application of soap and later liquid wax is totally touchless.

The new Royal Coach has a LOT of Chrome trim and having that well cleaned, as well as the tires and chrome hubcaps, is great. The old Royal Coach had some curved step ups that automatic washes were useless to clean. Was a great PITA to have to clean them with 0000 steel wool all the time!HA HA

:laughing::laughing: KT has a bit of experience with cabin air filters and their fans from the olde Royal Coach. It set outside under a smallish oak tree in its regular parking spot over the years. Two years ago while having the oil changed the shop tip recommended a cabin air filter change, and with KT’s Royal Approval, they did. When His Majesty got ready to leave, He turned on the heater fan and you never heard such a clatter! KT pointed it out to the shop manager, and he stated it sounded like some acorns on the fan blades! His Majesty talked to the workman who changed the filter and he said it was full of small acorns and pieces of acorns and twigs. He gave KT instructions on how to drop the fan and clean out that mess. His Majesty arrived back at the Castle and took out the 3 screws at the bottom of the unit, as recommended. Out dropped the fan and about 2 handfuls of ground up nuts and twigs!:laughing:

KT disconnected the wiring plug and blew out the fan cage with the Royal Air Compressor! The He vacuumed up all the mess from the cab and began the very awkward reinstallation of the unit, practically having to stand on the Royal Noggin. KT still could not see the exact location of the 3 holes that the bolts screwed into, so he blocked the fan up into position, and fumbled around until He got one screw threaded in! Then He was able to get a second and finally the third screw threaded in and tightened up. Turned on the fan and it was whisper quiet!

KT is of the opinion that much of the channel above the filter was blocked up with that mess and when the fellow pulled out the old filter, it all dropped down into the fan! Moral of the story….do NOT park under an oak tree on a regular basis.

From this dirty filter, it appears that the previous owner had an older brown and grey haired dog with a short coat and a shedding problem!:laughing:

Wow  shows it is worth checking !

Glad you mentioned it, I just checked one of the manuals on our newest car, the Prius Prime to see what it said, and while it does mention to inspect it at a much lesser mileage, here is where it says to replace it. (we park under a canopy at home so that should help some)

Yep, the particular design on the windshield wiper well of the olde RC seems to have been very effective in catching twigs, leaves, and small acorns, and KT was constantly pulling out such material, but the design on the new RC is essentially flush with the hood and very little seems to get caught around the wipers…..so far!:laughing:

The manual on the Lincoln MRX says to change it every 40k….KT is thinking it was the original filter…with 98k on it! There were 24 reports of maintenance for this RC on CARFAX and after reading through all of them, no mention of even inspecting the cab air filter, and most of these reports were by the original Ford Lincoln dealership. So KT watched a video for this particular model and found it was relatively easy to do….and KT was shocked when he saw it! It cost 30$ for the new filter and there were 2 grades of filter available, both made by WIX, so naturally KT purchased the higher priced one because it only costs a little more to go first class!:lol:
