Hunting where the county poor farm was built in 1865. It was used for persons who couldn't pay their debts until the 1920's then became a homesite was later abandoned and melted down and grew up in brush. Last week the landowner bulldozed the brush off and let us know so we could detect it. Although it is a promising site with lots of old glass and crock pieces, it also has zinc jar lids, nails, cans, which makes it quite challenging. So far only two noteworthy items recovered have been an 1893 Indian Cent and a 3 1/3 cent trade token. Really like the token from town about 20 miles away. The Indian appeared to have where someone attempted to drive a nail through it but didn't quite make it.
