1879 homesite Washington State

I will take some pics in a bit. Tons of iron. Found a new iron patch out there so hopefully soon I will find something besides nails and the like again. Today was all old iron and some random trash.

Well only got a couple hours in going in morning before I do a lil work so should get 3 hours in maybe. Here’s the nails. Some old some not as much. And some other targets.

Pretty excited for next weekend hunting with a fellow forum member.

Asking for this permission this weekend. It’s early 1900 I have the date somewhere at home. And it had a previous homestead that someone had at same spot around 1870’s. Hopefully get this permission

Had a great time today out with a fellow forum member and his buddy. I only found trash and a older compact as well as a marble. Anybody know anything about marbles? One of them found a cool Chicago tailoring company badge or something and a older spigot looking thingy with cool fancy detail. Here’s my day

Marble is from pre 1940 at least I am assuming. The house that was there has been gone since then and now it’s woods.

Got an ID on the marble it’s a Peltier Glass Co. Rainbo. Called a 7-Up. 1935-1940
Can’t ID the makeup compact thing.

So pretty sure this is similar to the compact I found.

In a little better shape then what I recovered

Today kiddo and I are asking for that new permission.

Detected about 10 hrs this week. Did a few playgrounds found some clad and the field of course found some nails.

Yesterday kiddo wanted to stay home and do art since it was raining pretty good. I still headed out. The field and homesite are getting tough. Things are greening up and growing. The field grass is taller and harder to swing. So got there detected for about 45 minutes and said time to go somewhere else for now. Was gonna ask for that permission but want my kid with me to hopefully improve my odds. Ended up going to where thousands tube each summer.

It’s over that far bar where main channel is.
Some weekends it’s close to a thousand tubers. Anyhow it had flooded and changed. Didn’t find anything but half a bucket of trash and 1.14 in clad. My snowy spots are now pretty accessible

Wow , this is quite a thread , I'm loving it ! Your talents and dedication are to be admired . Living here in "Concreteville " it is really refreshing to see all your pictures of unspoiled land and the wide variety of finds you are making .Congrats on living the dream !:tiphat:

Thanks I appreciate the comments. It is beautiful here by Mt. Baker but very little going on pre civil war. Most didn’t come out till after the war. So not much that’s old and if so it was probably dropped and brought with them. So really slim pickings. I may start trying older public curb strips soon with a forum member and his buddy. Have done zero of that. But the old logging camps and ccc camps are almost free of snow. Wish I could go back east or even England to hunt. I plan to go to a competitive hunt soon.

Here’s a lock I dug at the field early 2020 I think. I decided to keep it for the display I am building from that site.

I am moving so going through all the junk I have saved and keeping the more “relic” like items.

WOW, Jed, I just came across this thread and the finds you posted. Amazing stuff! We're hoping to find anything seated at the mining townsite, but so far the barbers are the oldest, along with some IHPs. (NOT complaining!)

Thanks TommyJay. Waiting for field to get mowed and I will hit it on way home again right now pretty tall about 6” Your spot is simply amazing wish we had that history here.

Didn’t want to post another thread for this lame outing. So went to the old early 1900 home that was built out of one cedar tree yes one tree!

Unfortunately the damn county filled wish crushed boulders yes I would say boulders not gravel at least large rock. So I knew the railroad and another house was further in the woods. Ended up finding foundation.

More to come. Busy on the green egg.

Well it has been hot and very dry here. Curb strips are very hard packed as well as most areas. The recently mowed this spot so went to try. I hit the field for about an hour but it was very hard digging. Pretty sure this site is gonna have to wait for the rains this fall. Also hit the tubing spots down the road from there. Once I get a scoop I will be going in the river everywhere those tubers launch, land and beach randomly. I intend to walk the river approximately 8 miles over the rest of the summer. Here’s a few pics of the field and it’s ground conditions.
