Any ideas? I found it on my private ground, in the Second World War it used to be a battleground in early 1945 between American and German troops (Just after the Battle of the Bulge). It was close to some American buttons and other US relics. My thought was that it has something to do with Christmas because of the stars and fir tree branches, but of course I could be completely wrong. I also have no idea whether it is a coin, button, pendant or something else entirely. 370268632_1319400488935956_2765201946340845901_n.jpg

I think that is a Battle Plan Token that would have been given to the men before an attack. The Stars would mean a Night time attack and the branches would be the direction different groups of soldiers would head when given the Charge Signal. The important thing would to have it oriented correctly before the attack such as on a compass face. I think the reason it got dropped is because whoever had that one got it wrong, went the wrong way and got shot by friendly fire.
Great Find!

That would be an amazing find indeed! thanks for the identification, I had no idea such tokens were distributed to the troops before an attack! It must have been enormously helpful for the American soldiers to have something visual on the chaotic battlefield to guide them to their objective!

it is a very interesting piece of history, but I can find very little information about it. Do you know any additional sources or information that I can find about it?
