In my previous post I asked about the Prizm V's.  I have one and I don't think it's working properly.  I have never found anything coin sized deeper then about 3 inches. I buried a dime and a half dollar both 6 inched deep.  My Prizm can't detect them.  Other detectorists that I was with were able to easily find these coins with their older detectors.  I still have about a year left on the White's warranty from when I purchased my Prizm.  I'm going to call White's on Monday and see if they will look at my machine under warranty.
Is it possible my machine could be defective when it's only a little more than a year old?
Has anyone else ever had a problem like this?
Does anyone know if White's will look at my detecor under warranty work?

I agree. Whites is real good at standing behind their products. Give them a call and see what they say. Its not unusual for even new electronics to fail after a very short period. We have installed new electronic "gizmos" here at work, and some of them are real big bucks only to have them fail shortly after they are put on line. We call it "infant mortality" of the device.

Might even be a coil problem. I'd let them know about it and have them fix it.

I talked to a White's representative and they will look at the machine under warranty.  However, it was explained to me that because of where I live, I likely need a machine that I can manually ground balance.  S.W. Pa. soil is said to be full of iron and mineralization from all of the steel mills we had around here . The rep. I talked to lives here about 3 hours away.  The 2 other machines that I compared mine to were manual ground balance machines. If that is the case then I will have documentation from the factory that the machine is working properly. I guess I'll be getting a DFX sooner than I thought!

I'll let everone know what White's comes up with, with my detector.
