I was cleaning my finds from a hunt at an old house a few days ago. I had found a button and didn't pay it much attention as the house was probably built in the 1930s or 40s. I had found 1 mercury dime, 1 wheat, and a bunch of clad. After cleaning the button, I was able to make out the image on the button and I recoginized it as a Virginia State button. I had found 1 other one before.
The button and Merc were both about 6" down under a big tree below the roots.
