Looking for a recommendation on a detector under $500 waterproof coil (salt water). Multi frequency, Also will use on dry land.

If multi frequency means simultaneous multi frequency and five selectable single frequencies all rolled into one detector, fully waterproof (saltwater) and under $500, the Nokta Legend is the only choice and from my experiences with it, it's a solid choice too.

Any recomendations on a USA based company for the purpose of repair and warranty. Do we make any in the US or are all made over seas.

Garrett’s Apex is a possibility. Its coils are waterproof. The control box isn’t waterproof. Garrett has excellent repair and warranty service.

Nokta also has a USA based repair facility and warranty service. Some of us on this forum have used it. Nokta Detectors are also active members and posters on this forum.

Legend all the way. I don't have one but my buddy does. If my Equinox goes belly up it'll get replaced by the Legend.

I've had my old Racer2 and my Impact serviced by Nokta in the past and customer service was fantastic both times. No worries there.

Vanquish 440? Any feedback?
Vanquish 440 is an excellent machine. I Like a three tone machine, make it as easy as possible, I’ve owned and own sophisticated machines and nothing beats simplicity. technology has come so far in such a short time in this hobbie that the 440 will hang with or surpass machines of 5 years ago costing $500 and up..nope, nothing at all wrong with the 440.
i Would say the majority of guys on here including myself will post my good finds, and never the junk. I need to start posting both…but my point is when you see guys posting 5-10 good finds and nothing else you better believe they’re not showing the 20 or better pieces of trash they dug up too..No matter what machine they’re using, cost etc..
