Today here in the great commonwealth of Massachusetts is Patriots Day. When my kids and grand kids were young we would get up at 4:30 AM and go to Lexington Common. There were other events and reenactments some years too. We would watch the reenactment of the battle there between the minutemen and British regulars. Minutemen 0 redcoats 1 that would change later during the day. Unfortunately now all that's heard around here is about the Boston marathon. The marathon is nice, we would watch it later in the day as is passes through Newton near where we live. When I was young it was amateurs running it and winning, now it's professionals. The many thousands of regular folks that run for many reasons are the ones I would cheer for. Well anyways I took the day off. Hope you all had a nice day, holiday or not.

There ya go! Competitive sports when I was younger was played for the sport, not the money and fake fame. I used to love to watch the Olympics, both summer and winter. Now it's a bunch of pro's trying to bolster their image.
