Went out for almost 2 hours this morning. Hit this site that's just fields and old paths in the woods. There aren't any no trespassing or private property signs either. I could spend weeks hunting this site. Some parts are a little trashy but the funny thing about these 2 items I found is that I didn't even have to dig for them, they were just sitting on top of the ground in plain site (think this place has been hunted recently? :) )

1) Silver plated jelly spoon from 1938 (Has [ "Holmes & Edwards" "IS" ]engraved on it).

2) Griswold cast iron stove pipe damper flue 5 and 1/2"- Haven't found date on this one yet but appears to be early 1900's

Nice finds Agbkyle. Silver City silver. If you were around in the early 70's you might recall there were some guys dredging the shallow stream right besides Reed and Barton. Apparently when some of the silversmiths damaged a peice they would throw it out the window in disgust into the stream .

Thanks Jeff. It wasn't found near Reed and Barton though. That place has been around since early 1800's, but I found a site that lists all the "registered historic places", Reed and Barton being one of them (and there are a ton of them here, including half the schools) so I imagine they're all off limits. Does the parking lot across the street count? LOL

I'm still trying to figure out which "mill city" is...couple of them down the road from me, isn't there?
I can only think of 2, and I'll mention them in our part of the woods lingo, lol, New Beige and Fall Reive

Formally from NB myself, only moved here about 16 yrs ago.
And yes, I do recall the 70's, good years :)

4-Reeve and New Beige, lol! I have to cross the longest bridge in the world to get there from RI, lol! Thanks for the laugh!

Jeff, thanks for the clarification..lol

Treasurekidd - nice to know that local slang exists in RI as well :)
