Tiny Shiny to Seated, The Trend Continues.

Sorry I missed this one earlier in the week, Mark! Wow, this year is starting out fantastic for you!! That 5¢ Canadian silver is awesome and has me super jealous…I’m still waiting for my first Canadian silver coin of any type. You wouldn’t think it would be so hard where I am - I can pretty much chuck a Wheatie and hit Windsor, and Canada made silver coins later than we did - but still no dice for me. Maybe this will be my year!

That shadow box looks great, too - very nicely done! Is that scrap vinyl flooring serving as the backing? And hot glue gun to apply the finds? Gonna have to mimic this for upcoming presentations for property owners - a great and easy way to say “thank you” for the opportunity to hunt their property.

Thank you Ben. The 5 cent silver was a surprise for sure, Wish it had been in a little better shape cause most likely I will never dig another. Hopefully you will get your coil over some Canadian silver before long.
As far as the shadow box. I got the coinholders and velcro dots from Hobby Lobby. I got the idea from Cpackjr. I was going to use hot glue but he suggested the velcro so the coins could be removed. That was a great idea however I outsmarted myself, the background was some old wallpaper I had and when I tried to detach the coin it tore the paper. Lesson learned. Sounds like your idea of some left over vinyl flooring might be a better idea. I'll try that next time. Good luck. Mark

Wow Mark that is some seriously amazing work. I like that token, I like those buffs.... but man o' man a Seated is pretty special indeed. Congrats on the killer hunt and that shadowbox is :wow: too.

I also like that Canada coin, wear and tear and size is crazy.

Thank you GS. I have been very lucky with the harder to find silvers this year. I hope the trend continues. All kinds of bucketlisters go flashing through my mind. Ha ha. Back on earth I'm grateful for any silver I dig. Good luck. Mark

Your doing it again to me Mark. Starting the year with some very nice shine as I lag on even getting out here in 2023. Heck I am just getting around to posting 2021 and 2022's year end rap ups. Don't they call that 5 cent Canadian a Fish Scale or somethimg. Sure is tiny like our Trime. Anyway big congrats on that recovery along with putting a Seated into your coffers. Both are very tough finds for sure. You just keep at putting the good count up so I have to aim a lot higher this year. Asd it stands right now my season won't start for another 5 or 6 weeks. Trapper

Ha ha Trapper, all things being equal if you were able to hunt this time of year you would be smoking me on the silver. Even with the late start last year you steam rollered right past me. I need the early start just to be in the race. I seem to remember something about a Fish Scale but not sure. Speaking of Canadian I dug another oddball for me. My first silver dime and my second large cent. Still looking for my first Merc of the year which is usually the easiest to find. Good luck. Mark

Some great pics and a wonderful story there! Absolutely love the tootsie car as well. Just think of the history of some child enjoying that car out in the backyard!

Wow! Great start to the year Mark! I’ll probably be up north of Pittsburgh again in May. Turkey hunting again. I’ve got to get in some detecting this time. Rained out last time.
