Tiny bomb?

Cool!! Man I had forgot all about those things. I collect toys from the 60s and 70s. Now I need to do an eBay search. Cost 10 cents when I was a kid at the corner store.

I played with those when I was a kid, and I'm only 23.. Chances are it's not from the 50s. Cool nonetheless

The difference in toy collecting is Is it labeled Hasbro USA" or made in China? Reason some original lunch boxes are worth thousands to collectors and 12 dollar duplicates made today are worth 2 dollars

Oooooh man!

I remember the rolls of "caps" you could get

We would just unroll them and run along the whole strip with a stone

Do you remember the paper things you used to throw at the ground and they'd explode? Came in a small match box sized box packed in sawdust? Remember one kid managed to burst one in his mouth, didn't seem to do him any damage as far as I remember... mind you, he may well be locked up for his own safety now, haven't seen him for a decade or two

My kids play with those "snaps" every year at 4th july... they love 'em!

I had to google to see if they even sold these things anymore and wow they actually do!

shhhhh, nobody say ANYTHING or they'll be banned tomorrow.

I loved those things. I would they to fit as many paper caps stacked on each other as I could...then I'd toss it like I was trying to hit the sky...down it came with a nice flash, best used at night...good ol times. Thanks for the post.

Cool. Not just the plastic snap caps, but does anyone remember the red rolls of snap paper? You would put them in some guns, or in those things that you found also. Pretty cool.

We would unroll the red strips and use a pointed rock and zip across a bunch at once for multiple pops. Pure entertainment right there. I remember these from the 80s and had the western style guns to go with them.

ONLY one at a time???? Just hit the entire roll with a hammer or brick. MUCH more fun. LOL. Or just put 3-4 in that little bomb. Had those as a kid. Lotsa fun. LOL

Exactly!
You had to figure out how many caps you could put in there to make the loudest noise, but not so many it was too stuffed and wouldn't go off.
Can't come close to doing that with those stupid plastic ones...not enough weight behind it.

I also did that hammer thing on 1, 2 or 3 rolls at a time.
My ears are still ringing.

Oh yeah man,

I had a couple when I was a kid....many many years ago. We would put in at least 3 caps and then jazzed it up with a bit of black powder....lotza smoke and noise Being a kid was so much more fun back in the fifties! The CO2 cartidge filled with paper match heads out of a pipe gave even a bigger rush:wow:

i wouldn't think they still made them being so dangerous and all.

I'm 34 and I never seen or heard of them till I found and posted a pic of it it was 4 inches down packed in and the spring still works this is coolest find other than 42 walking liberty

We'd do that too. Usually use a nail though, worked really well.....

...you guys have me remembering the smell of cap smoke! :D Childhood is the best! Toys, playing with other kids, no adult worries...sometimes I wish I could do it all over again. Of course, then I remember wishing so badly that I was an adult, because kids weren't allowed to do anything, and grown-ups had all the fun!

Oh man, that smell!!

And the absolute nightmare when your brother ran out of caps for his gun before you but you wanted to keep playing...a kids dilema for sure

At least with "spud guns" you didn't have that problem, unless of course you were around during the Irish famine. Imagine, shooting at each other with small pieces of potato...

If I had a time machine I'd go back not forward.
