I just talked with an old school buddy who bought our local sandpit. The pit was started in the 40s and used as a summer camping site. A large lake with boat ramps at each camp spot. A swimming holes in several locations, and now is bone dry. I got permission to do all the hunting I want. One swimming hole my buddy and I hunted several years ago when the lake was still off limits with the exception of payinmg campers. It was a flat-out gold mind.
Now my issue is finding an area with the best odds, a swimming hole perhaps, that I can walk to and back with my COPD issue. There is also a center cap area with a volleyball court, and a partying beach area on the island. Was only available to the paying campers. Should be a good site if I can get out there. It is big.
