Wow, nice stuff tater, looks like you and your son had a good ole time.

Those are pretty good finds for farmland in Indiana.

Incredible finds tater! What is the coin with the hole in it? Capped bust dime? Year?

Yes its a bust dime. 1834 is the year. My 9 year old son found it!!!! Hes found the oldest so far this year. My oldest for the year is 1859 Indianhead penny. I hate getting beat by my 9 year old LOL. Not really!!

nice finds

great finds Tater , i just got an 1834 capped bust half dime a few weeks ago coincedently
its a holed coin as well . i love the spur ,still looking for one . Dan

speaking of getting beat! that 1869 nickle you got while i was out with you the other day was a home run. don't cry about noah beating you or i'll tell who really DUG that nickle. i got high hopes for the 'new' place i found on the map, and i think you can get permission lots easier than i could.

Yes the curved pieces are clay pipes. Me and my sons have found 6 this year. Sometimes we dont even take a detector and just walk the fields for artifacts. Phantom he might have dug that nickel but we know who found it. I wish it was him. Me and Phantom met up the other day and hit the old fairground site in our county from the 1800s. All we pulled out was an old 1869 shield nickel. The front is ok but the back is toast. I have SEVERAL more house sites for later in the year and if i can get permission maybe a racetrack that is a little old. (1936) was when it was built.
