Found this today at a site that has given up from a KG II copper up to about 1950s coins. About 9-10 inches deep.

Weighs about 100 gr, is definitely solid, about an inch or so big, and rang in the mid-high range (around copper pennies or CO 43 on an E-Trac). Has a hole in it that runs about 3/4 inch deep. Probably to attach it to something. Unclear what is is made of, but certainly not copper.

Any ideas?

Hard to tell if it is threaded, I don't think it is. Seems a little small for a gear shift knob, but I guess it could be, especially on a tractor.

Possibly the ball off of an old engine governor.
