I usually buy Stavr. And am I ever regretting not buying another Stavr. Decided to give Shito a chance. What a joke.

How do you have a dozen razor sharp needle points inside a sand scoop? The tips of the feathers are needle sharp.

Then I noticed that his weld points went through the pipe in 3 different locations. No shaft, cf or wood, is going to fit inside of it.

And now for the icing on the cake... There was no screw provided with the scoop. Mr Shito told me to go buy 1. After putting in the screw I had to go buy, I then found out there was no threads inside the scoop for the screw to go into.
I asked him about this.. and his response was, "read the description carefully. Nowhere in the description does it say the scoop comes with a screw or threading on the inside."
It also weighs at least 2lbs more than a Stavr. The welds at the back are going to give away probably after a couple of weeks.
Shito 1/10
Stavr 9.5/10

You know what they say Steve... you get what you pay for... How has hunting been going?

The guy charged me top dollar for it. Same price as a Stavr. Being in Asia I'm limited with the delivery options of what I can get mailed to me.
Hunting is dead over here. Since I posted the Tudor watch last summer my competition have started digging all signals.
I had a secret beach that I've been going to for a decade. I've found gold every single time and a pocketful of coins. My record was 100g in a day and 200g over 3 days... last time I went I didn't find a single coin using a pi. Everything gone. I didn't think it was possible.

Its a shame.... you used to do really well hunting over there... what are they swinging for detectors?

Just checked out the prices, they are not cheap... Ruslan not making scoops anymore?

Never bought a Sito, and it looks like I never will. Thanks for the heads up Steve, that's just ludicrous...
A water scoop with a dozen or so sharp needle points in the scoop. Have fun reaching in for that target. I'll find a way to get a shaft into it and seal it. I'll probably do something to the Shito eagle stamp to get rid of the needle points too.
Guy said he sold 1000s of scoops and nobody has every complained that there was no screw or threads in the scoop for the screw to go into.

All equinox. I bought a D2 that I'm going to learn the ropes of. Going to have to switch my hunting strategies to have any success in the future.

That's a shame. You pay that amount of money hoping to get quality, but only getting something that by rights should have been made to be safe for the user. Those are short cut, or tack welds and you are right about it not holding up long. Gotta agree it's a nice-looking scoop, just needed some follow-up work done before hitting the market. :waytogo:

Steve , what do you have Pi wise ?.I'm looking , plenty scoops here , also Xtreme is back running , material problems solved ! Sorry to see you suffer , but it's not the end of the world yet

Feels like this was the scoop sitting in the corner for the past few years... and due to my location he figured this was the perfect opportunity to get rid of it. I emailed him 2 times before mailing it to make sure he would put the phone number on it. He didn't. Where I live the postal guy calls you to come get the mail. Kind of hard if there's no number on it. Caught it the day before it was returned to sender (not eligible for refund from ebay).

Whites sl, beach hunter, pro. Kept these 3. The pro is covered in dust.

You just might be right. However, you just blew the whistle on this person by bringing this up on a major metal detecting forum. Most folks looking for some answers will go to a forum to do a good portion of their research. This kind of bad press don't bode well for this guy.:okpeople::waytogo:

I think a lot of Shito sales are international, very few in the US. I'll probably take it to the shop on the weekend and add some support bars into the back.
If you put your fingertip on 1 of the feather needles it will draw blood. Just don't know how anyone can retrieve a target out of that.

Sorry to hear about your scoop. But that is the least of your worries. The competition is killing the beaches worldwide IMO. Yeah , they replenish and you might find an isolated spot on occasion. But with the numbers I'm seeing out here , I feel your pain. Changing to a different machine (D2) will not change anything if the crowd is digging all targets. Moving somewhere else is a crapshoot , it could be the same thing. GL out there.
