My Legend is still in for repair, so I've been using my Simplex for the past week, and it's been doing great. A few days ago, I came up with two silver rings, plus a bunch of clad. Yesterday, I went to a town park I've never visited before, and had more great luck. The park was built in the 80's, so I wasn't expecting to find very old coins. But I was looking forward to the visit to see what might come up. I was walking around the trees that mainly are on the outside perimeter of the park. Walked about 3/4 of the way around, picking up some interesting things along the way: first thing was a beat up stop watch, only about an inch under the dirt. Scored a half dozen quarters, and some other clad as I was going, then came across a Super Speed 308 cartridge, which was a surprise. A little further away, came across a 22 casing, and then got a car key. Finally made it almost first circle to where I started, and under a pine tree, get a strong 49 VDI on the Simplex. Dropped the digger into the soft dirt, and 2-3 inches down, out pops a ring. I could tell right away it was gold. Gave it a light brush off, and could see it was a 14K mens ring. Gave the proper thanks for the find, and tucked that bad boy in my pocket. Fits pretty good on my finger. Another sweet find with the Simplex!

Simplex is certainly getting the job done for you. I've yet to find a simple men's gold band. Yours has some nice weight to it as well. Congrats!
