Stopped at a new permission yesterday. Got a couple hours of detecting in, but there is a lot of ground to cover, so I will be back. Nice results for the time there. I picked up silvers 10 and 11 with two Mercs, nice shape. First is a 1927 and second is a '39. Also picked up several wheaties and a brass religious medal. One side says "Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima" showing Mary appearing before the children Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco. The other side says, "Sacred Heart of Jesus Have Mercy on Us" (shown in the pic) with Jesus and the Sacred Heart engraved. Found one just like it online, says it's brass. It's weathered and worn, but so am I...another keeper and another good spot to return to in the future.

Looks like a great permission site! Always nice landing a permission like this where you can keep going back multiple times. Happy hunting!

Those are definitely keepers! And you aren't even done with that property. You will find more.

Congrats on the pair of Mercs, wheats and medal. I have found a bunch of religious medals over the years but the one that escapes me is a St. Anthony medal. Patron saint of the lost, so I guess nobody ever looses theirs. Huh ? :?: Good luck on your return. Mark

I was back at this permission again today. No silvers, but I did find a 1923 Buff Nickel, very rough shape, and three more wheats, 1926, 1944 and 1953D. So that makes 8 wheats, 2 silvers and a Buff, along with a religious medal and other clad, for the permission visit. I may go back yet again, because there is a pond about 400 feet away down the property that the owner says used to be visited by picnicers back in the 40s/50s when it was an open field. Its now wooded around the pond, and may be tough to hunt, but could be worth the effort if there are finds to be had in there.
