I had a storage unit to clean out back in Montana, so rented an Enterprise box truck in Missoula, had some good help loading it up, then back to Idaho with the contents. Returned the box truck to Missoula and met my friend Wayne for a couple of partial days of detecting there. I used my refurbished AT Pro, and Wayne used the Nox 800 for this hunt.

Our first day was this last Friday, nice weather with temps about 80. We ended up getting nine permissions in a 1940s neighborhood. Lots of friendly folks, some decent sized yards, not a ton of coins but we still did well. It was Wayne's day to shine, his first good find was a Silver GW quarter with a Jefferson Nickel on top of it, and he added 6 Mercs and Silver Rosies, along with a tiny Sterling Silver heart charm. I ended up with just one silver, a 1918 Merc Dime, as my sides of the yards that we split up just didn't have silvers. I did get a lot of wheat cents, a nice Buffalo Nickel, and a few Jefferson nickels. My coolest finds were 3 WW1 era lead toy soldiers, found in the front yard of one of the houses. We both got the usual wheat cents, clad quarters and dimes, along with some copper Memorial cents.

We detected again yesterday, Saturday, and my day started out great! I got the OK at a 1940s corner lot, my first coin was a Merc Dime, and it turned out that my first 5 coins were 3 Merc Dimes and 2 wheat cents, so a very nice start! Wayne's first coin was a Merc Dime, so a good start for him too. We ended up getting eight permissions that day in the same general area. I ended up with 6 Silver dimes, Wayne added a 1939 Silver Bolivar foreign coin from Venezuela, and another Silver Washington quarter. Other finds were a nice Sterling Silver bracelet for Wayne, and a child's play watch, coat tag, and other oddities for me. We both pulled a fair amount of wheat cents, and more clad. I ended up with 41 wheat cents, and added a 1945 Canadian Tombac nickel and a aluminum play money tiny coin. We enjoyed our detecting there, nice to see that Missoula can still produce some goodies from the private permissions. Pictures follow, Wayne's finds then mine, thank you for your interest!

There was King Midas whose touch turned everything to gold, there must be a name for someone who does the same with silver. That would be you! Congrats on the great hunts. Appreciate the engaging posts too. Hope you can keep getting out on productive sites. Good luck.

Got a handful!
Thank you!

Thank you Gale! Appreciate the kind words and happy to have found some silvers! Might be on a road trip with Jason soon. Are you and Paul road tripping back to the general area you were before?

Way to go David. Glad MT still treats you well when you visit. I pulled some wheats and a silver GW quarter a week ago in town. Most of permissions I got were nothing left lots. did pull another ATC (Diggers) token. Tough living in a valley there were based out of knowing they hit most sites already. My third ATC token. But great getting out

Thank you Josh! Congrats on the GW Silver and the Wheat Cents, very nice. Yes, it is great just to get out, and a few good finds make it even nicer!
I don't know who has more silver, you or the Hunt brothers from the '80's...congrats!
Thank you LNCB! Hah... probably the Hunt Bros... though I am trying!:)
Great finds David. What a score ! Nice layout too. Congrats to you and your Bud. Good luck.
Thank you Mark! Glad you like the old Salmon Can labels background. Hope to head out on a detecting road trip soon, will report in for sure.

Boy I bet you're happy with the current spot-market-price of silver !! Nice job !

Thanks Tom! I do keep all my silver coins and better finds, but yep, if I did cash them in I would be sitting pretty!
