Some finds not too long ago from an area used heavily in the 2nd and 3rd Seminole Wars here in Florida (and some War between the States action).

The very top piece tool looking item intrigues me, and I have no clue what it could be for??

Any ideas? Or any ideas on a couple of the other's that aren't the obvious square nails. Thanks for any info!

Sorry I'm not much help, but it definitely looks like a variety of older items. :cool3:
No problem, yeah, these items are from a major river crossing area that ranged from early 1800's to especially the 2nd and 3rd Seminole wars; and perhaps the War between the States mixed in. I imagine that these items are 1840's through 1850's, which would cover the 2nd and 3rd Seminole Wars.

Nice finds. The tool looks like it might have been part of a blacksmiths tongs. The other items would fit into an area of wagon repair and other black smith or farriers work.

Wow, you're right I think on blacksmith tongs! This area is pure as far as ZERO modern junk/trash, but endless square nails and items like seen above. Perhaps this was a blacksmith area I am on top of or very near too. Thanks for the input!
