Thanks for that, I found it interesting. Detectorists spend a lot of time in areas such as that cornfield. Speaking for myself, I know I passed on a lot of surface objects that I just did'nt have a clue, so I walked on by. Your knowledge on what to look for, and what not to disturb would be a welcome addition to this forum.
I was talking to a conservation officer here in Florida who also metal detects. He reminded me that artifacts relating to native Americans should be reported. Glad you posted that, and hope to see another....Gil
