Tonight I went back to the site I was at last weekend. Where I found some 1930s things. Tonight I found a couple things with a little more age than last week. A number 7 cortal bell that’s broken 😢 and a connecticut copper. The front is in fairly good shape but the back doesn’t have anything on it. This was closer to the age I was thinking could be at this site.

I'm with crotal bells like Tom is with LC's. Ya'll find a lot of them out your way. Well done on the cool finds MD. :waytogo:
In this area they must have been on every horse around. I find at least pieces of them at most of the old sites. Still looking for a unbroken big one.

I find relics from the early 1800s here in my area because of the Santa Fe Trail, at least as far back as 1821, but because few early homes/towns I have yet to find a single cortal bell.
