KT was very happy to hear of these foreign visitors seeking refuge with KT’s Royal Court!
These peoples arrival is directly in response to the 10 Bens that were made Ambassadors by His Majesty and sent out into Foreign Countries with goodwill from KT’s Realm. Eight silver foreigners showed up today, having traveled from around the world in a desire to be part of His Majesty’s Treasure Trove!
The Royal Photographer took pictures of them as pairs, both obverse and reverse. KT spent an entire afternoon with them, seeking information about their country of origin, age, and silver content, since many foreign coins were minted with a lower percentage of silver than US coinage. Pictures depict coins 1 & 2, 3 & 4, etc. The most difficult coin to identify was coin #8 as it had Arabic characters, rather than English, Greek, or other languages using a similar alphabets influenced by the Romantic languages. The lower numbered coin is on the left in the photos below.
So, here are the Royal Visitors pictures, 2 at a time:
Photo 1 - coin 1 & 2 are: New Zealand 1941 1 Florin; 0.500 Ag; $18: Spain 1870 2 Pesetas; 0.835 Ag; $9
Photo 2 – coin 1 & 2: reverse of the same two coins.
Photo 3 - coin 3 & 4 are: Poland 1933 5 XLTYCH 5; 0.750 Ag; $7: Sweden Gustaf VI Adolf 1965; 0,.400 Ag, $5
Photo 4 – coin 3 & 4: reverse of the same two coins.
Photo 5 – coin 5 & 6 are: Greece 1965 Royal Wedding 30 Drachmai; 0.835Ag; $51: Venezuela 1960 1 Bolivar; 0.835 Ag, $5
Photo 6 – coin 5 & 6: reverse of the same two coins.
Photo 7 – coin 7 & 8 are: Hungary 1969 1 Florint (Austrio-Hungarian Empire), KB; 0.900 Ag; $50: Morocco 1385-1965 5 Dirham; 0.720 Ag; $15.
Photo 8 – coin 7 & 8: reverse of the same two coins.
Several of these coins show significant wear, showing their age and/or circulation, but several are also either in AU or Unc condition from their luster and lack of dings and nicks. KT enjoyed meeting His Royal Guests and once they are put in sleeves and properly labeled they will be stored away in the Royal Treasure Chest! A couple had Royal Baths before being photographed, just to remove the dirt from their long travels!
Note: the prices are not based on silver content and weight (i.e. melt value) but instead what KT found they were being offered for on both eBay and various Numistimatic sites, given each individual coins condition. Totals out to be $160 per asking price, not bad for $53 (price paid by KT). Enjoy these newest additions to KT's silver stacks!
